Robinson 20 of Karnack for minor consuming alcohol and littering Luther Charles Tackett Jr 32 of Kilgore for Upshur County warrants for theft of a firearm and Bobby Joe Johnson Jr 34 of Longview for assault POLICE COMMUNICATIONS Police communications answered 31 911 calls 303 public calls 70 for police five for fire 13 for ambulance three for animal control 91 calls dispatched and answered a total of 334 calls KILGORE FIRE DEPARTMENT No fire report was available at press time Rowe made the initial report CRIMINAL MISCHIEF A criminal mischief was reported at 10:05 pm Sunday in the 200 block of Henderson Boulevard An estimated $75 was done to tires at that location Officer John Rowe made the initial report POLICE RECORDS From 8 am to 5 pm Friday police records answered 79 calls and had 23 requests for assistance at the window ARREST REPORT From 7 am Saturday to 7 am today Kilgore police arrested John Lee Toole 22 of Tyler for public intoxication Ming-Hui Uyu 32 of Tyler for driving while intoxicated and driving while license invalid Anthany KPD probed The Kilgore Police Department investigated four offenses during the 24-hour period ending at 7 am today according to Sergeant Ron England He said: FORGERY The counterfeit forgery of a $20 bill was reported at 10:18 am Saturday in the 800 block of Highway 259 North Officer Marce Carter made the initial report THEFT A theft was reported at 5:59 pm Saturday in the 2600 block of Highway 259 North Reported taken was $1589 of food where customers left without paying Officer Robert Henderson made the initial report The theft of a 30-pack of beer valued at $18 was reported at 11 pm Sunday in the 600 block of Highway 135 north Officer John Strong storms DOYLE MASON Graveside services for Doyle Mason 54 of Kilgore will be held at 10 am Tuesday April 24 2001 at Kilgore Memorial Gardens with the Rev Don Beebe officiating The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore from 6 until 8 pm Monday Mr Mason died Saturday in White Oak He was born Jan 20 1947 in Jacksonville to parents Charles and Opal Mason He was employed by Topcat Oilfield Services in Kilgore he was a veteran of the United States Army where he served during Vietnam he received the Bronze Star Medal Mr Mason was also a member of Americal Division Veterans Association He is survived by his wife Brenda Mason of Kilgore two children Melanie Spiva of Virginia and Timothy Mason of Kilgore two stepchildren Marsha Rutherford of Arlington Texas and Jeremy Ca-bler of Rice Texas sister Molly Mason of Longview brothers Scott Mason and Mack Mason both of Kilgore three grandchildren Brendon Spiva Megan Spiva and Bria Cabler and several nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Aryssa Rutherford Freeman officiating Burial will follow in the Danville Cemetery Mrs Swingler died Sunday April 22 2001 in Kilgore She was born July 21 1930 in Nacogdoches Texas to Frederich Johnson Gattis and Jewell Sessions Gattis Mrs Swingler attended Longview Public Schools and was a graduate of Longview High School She graduated from Kilgore College where she was a Rangerette and was active in the Forever program Mrs Swingler received her degree from Stephen Austin University She was dedicated to her church family and friends She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 30 years and served on many of the committees Mrs Swingler was an active volunteer for the Kilgore Public School system and a lifetime member of the PTA She was a member of the American Business Association and the Club Au Current Mrs Swingler is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Suzie and Mike Anthony of Kilgore a son and daughter-in-law Jimmy and Frances Swingler of Kilgore a brother and sister-in-law Charles and Mary Gattis of Fort Worth six grandchildren Shea and Alex Tyra of Kilgore Ashley Anthony of Kilgore Michael Anthony of Kilgore Jessica Swingler of Kilgore Heather
